The bursar of Ghanata Senior High School (SHS), Lamisi Sarah, has been arrested over the alleged diversion of food supplies intended for students.
The arrest was confirmed by Linda Ocloo, Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku and Greater Accra Regional Minister.
According to the Minister, her office received credible reports in recent weeks suggesting that the bursar had been siphoning portions of food provisions meant to support student welfare and nutrition.
She indicated that the matter has been handed over to the appropriate investigative authorities for further action, stressing that any individual found culpable would face the full rigours of the law.
The alleged diversion has sparked concern among parents and community members, particularly at a time when government-supported feeding programmes remain critical to student wellbeing in public senior high schools.

Linda Ocloo described the situation as deeply disturbing, stressing that the alleged act represents a grave breach of trust and public responsibility.
She noted that food supplies allocated to schools are intended to ensure the proper nourishment and wellbeing of students, and any diversion of such provisions undermines both student welfare and public confidence in the management of educational resources.
According to her, safeguarding supplies meant for students is a critical duty, and authorities will not treat allegations of misappropriation lightly.

Linda Ocloo said that upon receiving the complaints, she alerted the constituency’s National Security apparatus to carry out a discreet investigation into the matter.
She explained that while she was in the constituency on Tuesday, February 17, the findings confirmed the alleged diversion of food supplies, which subsequently led to the apprehension of the bursar, Lamisi Sarah.
The Minister indicated that further investigations are ongoing to establish the full extent of the alleged misconduct.

Linda Ocloo stated, “I directed the officers to hand her over to the Police so that due process can take its full course under the law,” adding that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
She emphasised that such incidents erode public confidence in state institutions and have a direct impact on the wellbeing of students who depend on the supplies for proper nourishment.
The Minister stressed that accountability would be upheld and that anyone found culpable would face the full rigours of the law. Reaffirming her commitment to protecting student welfare and safeguarding the integrity of public institutions in the region, she vowed to ensure that breaches of trust are addressed decisively.
